Taiwan's president said Thursday he hopes this weekend's historicmeeting with China's leader can ease Beijing's hard-line stance on diplomaticrelations with Taiwan, which is now recognized by just 22 countries.
台湾台北（美联社）——台湾总统周四称他希望本周末与中国领导人的会面可以缓解北京对台湾外交关系的强硬立场，目前台湾只得到22个国家的承认。

★Chinawill only allow more international space for Taiwan only if Taiwan presidentand parliament as well as whole country and majority of Taiwan people recogniseChina and Taiwan is one country, forsake independence. How can China allowTaiwan more international space, that makes Taiwan equal status as China tointernational community ? No way. Taiwan is asking too much, and give nothingaway. China will surely not agree to that. Bottom line is for Taiwan to agreethat it is a part of China, better still be a province of China. As long asTaiwanese people refuse to be part of China, Taiwan will remain isolated as itis, no change of status quo. Isn't that what Taiwanese want ? Why Taiwanesewant to change status quo, change status to be independent country ? That isnot going to happen. You want to take something, first you must give somethingin return, nothing is free.
只有台湾总统，台湾议会，以及整个国家和大部分台湾人民承认台湾和中国是一个国家并且放弃独立的话，中国才会允许台湾获得更多的国际空间。中国怎么能允许台湾获得更多的国际空间，让台湾和中国在国际社会平起平坐呢？没门。台湾要求太多，却不舍得付出。中国是肯定不会同意的。前提是台湾要承认自己是中国的一部分，最好成为中国的一个省。只要台湾人民拒绝成为中国的一部分，那么台湾将继续受到孤立，现状不会得到改变。这不正是台湾人所想要的吗？为什么台湾人想改变现状呢，改变现状从而成为独立国家？那是不可能发生的。你想要获得某件东西，那首先你要付出，没有东西是免费的。

好耶。。如果未来两岸统一，那么国庆节将从10月1号（中国目前的国庆节）延续到10月10号（台湾目前的国庆节）。。。也就是说可以放假10天啦。
