Foolish thinking nowadays which leads to possible conflict. We are fooling ourselves sometimes because U.S. Armed Forces hardly have enough funds to run efficiently for the mission. Personnel cost vs. equipment upkeep. Check it out with the old slogan. "Do a lot more with a lot less" until it appears one is almost a magician. I hope we don't find ourselves in the pre-WW2 state where the Army used broom sticks for boot training because they did not have enough rifles for the trainees and salaries for buck privates was about 21 dollars a month and even into 1947 salaries for basic Trainees was about 75 dollars a month. In contemporary times it is the same military who are deployed so much to the same war areas until they see themselves coming and going. It would do well to focus on the national debt and rapidly falling infrastructure !! Time to to diminish role of COP to the world.

Well it seems as if US technology isn't as dominating as we've been told. I've actually known that but was amazed by the number of people trying to claim superiority on behalf of the US. Many of our weapons are like our infrastructure,old and tired. As I travel the world I realize how the US has become second rate,even in comparison to places that were virtually nothing thirty years ago. Almost $20 trillion in debt and we look like a wino from the 20's. Obama still running around playing big shot while reducing our military,overlooking our infrastructure and pushing ahead with promises of billions of dollars spent on Climate Change. Like a unemployed,homeless, welfare recipient buying a new cadillac. Typical.

The USA does have the biggest but the problem with the USA military is spread so thin all over the world that it has become weak and ineffective in a war against China, Russia and Iran (Yes, the next war would be against the trio) while the military of the trio is super concentrated and nimble. Some people may argue that the USA military is so advanced that they can win a war easily against them. The USA would be in for a big surprise because all China and Russia have been doing for the past 20 or 30 years is upgrading their weaponry to counter that of the USA's and the time has come!

We need to start charging our so called "Coalition Allies" (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Kuwait, and Oman) Non-recurring Development Costs (NRE) for any and all weapon systems they buy from the USA. They have minimal Aerospace Industries, and rely on the $Bs we spend on developing these weapon systems. If they want to feel secure, then they need to share in these costs, rather than funding Radical Islamists. Our true friends in Egypt and Jordon as well as our NATO Allies (Excluding Turkey) should be able to continue buying our weapons at no NRE.

Put our youth to work and those of Latin America who we at least have many things in common with. Make our supply chain from the natural resources for South America component manufacturing in Mexico/Central America final assembly here..
Maybe just wishing for a form of the good ol days ... but I can tell you one thing, the people who pushed the global economy thing on us ought to be strung and quartered... I hope they got rich because it has screwed the younger generation.

America must realize that this planet belongs to more than 200 nations and cannot act as the boss or the owner of every ocean, sea and continent. We donn't need any boss to rule and if we need one, definitely not an American because simply they are not qualified and there is no successful story everywhere that they tried to imposed their lordship.
