Americans are not buying as much cheap Chinese crap as we once did. We can't afford to. We're maxed out, or tapped out, or very likely both. Just can't afford those fancy plastic gizmos anymore. So it shouldn't be surprising that Chinese exports have plunged. What's shocking is how far they've plunged.

Since China's largest export markets are the US and the EU, this says more about the total collapse of the later than China itself. The fact is both are in extreme trouble. China has been shutting down unproductive state enterprises and cleaning up its mess. The US and the EU have not.
